Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how the Android app SwiftDrop (“the App”) handles information. SwiftDrop helps you send and receive files between nearby devices on the same local network (Wi‑Fi). You do not need to create an account with us to use the App.

3. Information stored on your device

The following stays locally on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall:

• Device display name and app settings (theme, save folder, auto-accept trusted devices, notifications)
• List of trusted devices (device ID and friendly name only)
• Transfer history (file name, size, sender name, local file path, date received)
• Onboarding and tutorial completion state

Use Clear app data or uninstall to delete this local data.

4. File transfers (Android ↔ Android)

When you send files to another SwiftDrop device on the same Wi‑Fi, the App uses local network discovery (mDNS), a WebSocket channel for pairing/PIN verification, and a direct TCP connection to transfer file bytes. This traffic stays on your local network. We do not receive or store the file contents on our servers.

5. Browser transfer (Send to any device / Receive from iPhone or PC)

To share with phones or computers that do not have SwiftDrop installed, the App may start a temporary HTTP server on your device (same Wi‑Fi only). The other device opens a link in a web browser, enters a PIN shown on your phone, then downloads or uploads files directly to/from your phone over the local network.

This local web server uses HTTP on your LAN (not public internet hosting). When you stop sharing or close the session, the server stops. We do not host your files on a remote website.

6. Permissions and why we ask

• Local network / Wi‑Fi: find nearby SwiftDrop devices and run local transfer
• Photos, videos, audio, files: let you pick files to send (you choose what to share)
• Storage: save received files to your chosen folder (e.g. Downloads/SwiftDrop)
• Notifications: optional alerts for incoming transfers (if enabled in settings)
• Internet: local HTTP/WebSocket on your network; not used to upload files to our cloud

7. Advertising

The free version may show a banner ad using Google AdMob at the bottom of main screens. AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID to serve and measure ads. SwiftDrop Pro subscribers do not see ads. We do not show full-screen ads during an active file transfer.

8. Analytics and crash reporting

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature use (for example transfers completed, subscription events) and to fix crashes. These services may process device identifiers and diagnostic logs. We do not use them to read or transmit your file contents.

9. Purchases (Google Play)

SwiftDrop Pro is a monthly subscription sold through Google Play Billing. Pro removes ads and unlocks unlimited trusted devices. Payment details are handled by Google, not stored by us.

10. Data we do not collect

• We do not store your file contents on our servers
• No email / password account required
• We do not sell your personal information
• We do not collect precise GPS location
• We do not read your contacts, SMS, or call logs

11. Children

SwiftDrop is not directed at children under 13 and is not in Designed for Families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Data retention & your choices

• Local settings and history: until you clear app data or uninstall
• Remove trusted devices anytime in Settings
• Clear transfer history in the History tab
• Email us with privacy questions (include app version and approximate dates of use)

13. Third-party services

Current version relies primarily on your device and local network. Future versions may use:

• Google Play / Google Play Billing (if Pro subscription is enabled)
• Google AdMob (if ads are enabled)
• Google Firebase (if analytics/crash reporting is enabled)

Each service has its own privacy policy for data they process.

14. Changes

We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Chính sách này mô tả cách app Android SwiftDrop xử lý thông tin. SwiftDrop giúp gửi và nhận file giữa các thiết bị gần nhau trên cùng mạng Wi‑Fi. Không bắt buộc tạo tài khoản.

• Lịch sử nhận file (tên file, dung lượng, người gửi, đường dẫn local, thời gian)
• Trạng thái onboarding

Dùng Xóa dữ liệu app hoặc gỡ cài để xóa.

4. Chuyển file Android ↔ Android

App dùng mDNS để tìm thiết bị, WebSocket để ghép nối/PIN, và TCP trực tiếp để truyền file trên mạng Wi‑Fi cục bộ. Chúng tôi không nhận hoặc lưu nội dung file trên server.

5. Chuyển qua trình duyệt (iPhone / PC)

App có thể mở HTTP server tạm trên điện thoại (cùng Wi‑Fi). Thiết bị kia mở link trên trình duyệt, nhập PIN, tải hoặc gửi file trực tiếp qua mạng nội bộ. Không host file trên website công khai. Dừng chia sẻ → server tắt.

• Mạng cục bộ / Wi‑Fi: tìm thiết bị SwiftDrop và truyền file
• Ảnh, video, audio, file: bạn chọn file để gửi
• Bộ nhớ: lưu file nhận (vd. Downloads/SwiftDrop)
• Thông báo: tùy chọn khi có file đến

7. Quảng cáo (bản hiện tại)

SwiftDrop 1.0.0 không hiển thị quảng cáo và không dùng Advertising ID. Bản sau có thể có AdMob hoặc gói Pro — sẽ cập nhật chính sách trước khi phát hành.

8. Analytics & crash

Bản hiện tại không dùng Firebase Analytics hay Crashlytics.

9. Mua trong app (tương lai)

Gói Pro (nếu có) qua Google Play Billing; thanh toán do Google xử lý.

10. Dữ liệu không thu thập

• Không lưu nội dung file trên server
• Không bắt buộc đăng nhập
• Không bán thông tin cá nhân
• Không thu thập vị trí GPS

11. Trẻ em

Không hướng tới trẻ dưới 13 tuổi.

12. Lưu trữ & lựa chọn

• Dữ liệu local: đến khi xóa dữ liệu app hoặc gỡ cài
• Xóa thiết bị tin cậy / lịch sử trong app

13. Dịch vụ bên thứ ba

Bản hiện tại chủ yếu dùng thiết bị và mạng local. Bản sau có thể thêm Play Billing, AdMob, Firebase.

14. Thay đổi

Cập nhật khi tính năng hoặc yêu cầu pháp lý thay đổi.
